Bold Leadership for a Bold Time

“Young people haven’t left the church, they’re holding it accountable.

The Rev. Dr. Shannon Fleck is an Oklahoma native who took on the role as Executive Director of Faithful America in March 2025, where she leads her team to prophetically work to confront white Christian nationalism in the United States.

Prior to taking on the role with Faithful America, for nearly 8 years, Fleck led the Oklahoma Faith Network (formerly Oklahoma Conference of Churches), where she called attention to the issue of religious extremism within the borders of the nation’s reddest state. Dr. Fleck actively consults faith leaders, politicians, lawyers, judges, businesses, and nonprofit entities on matters of strategic response to religious extremism within local contexts, and has been instrumental in cultivating contextual responses that are impactful, as well as effective.

Dr. Fleck has reworked what it means to be an active faith voice, that relies on community centered work, and collaborative models of ministry. She empowered and united the broadest coalition of faith communities and secular organizations in Oklahoma around ideas of love, affirmation, acceptance, and grace— which she now brings to the national stage. Through grassroots work and relationship development, Dr. Fleck works with her team at Faithful America towards moving the needle of response to theocratic ideals which seek to undermine religious freedom for all Americans.
